TVIRD’s Agata joint venture continues to receive the strong support of its host tribes – the Mamanwas and the Manobos. Recently, the company and its employees commemorated the “Kahimoan” with its indigenous hosts, offering prayers and celebrating both tribes’ customs and traditions.
Subanen leaders entered into a memorandum of agreement with TVIRD in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur. The leaders represent the collective Subanen tribe in the Municipality of Bayog of the same province, including the company’s MPSA area in Sitio Balabag, where it is primed to bring its gold and silver project on stream.
In commemoration of RMN Butuan’s 55th Anniversary, Agata Mining Ventures Inc. (AMVI) mobilized its own team to support the RMN DXBC Medical Mission in Barangay Obrero, Butuan City. TVIRD and the AFP’s Special Forces planted 2,375 rubber tree seedlings right above the company’s sulphide dam. The reforestation initiative is a recovery effort to replace some 50 full-grown Falcatta trees that were felled by Kaingineros in the company’s Canatuan mine site.

TVIRD and partner NGO conduct a livelihood forum to harness the potential of planting bananas – the Philippines’ leading export income earner for farmers. In the country, some 6 million farm households source their livelihood from planting bananas, which is a non-seasonal crop that has 200 indigenous varieties.
