TVI Resource Development (Phils.) and its Canadian affiliate, TVI Pacific Inc, have joined The Maple Tree Foundation for Mountain Communities in an effort to help those affected by the intense storms that are causing widespread damage and significant flooding in the Philippines (please see TVIRD homepage here: )

Donations may be channeled through the Foundation via this link: Maple Tree Foundation

To call attention to the storm victims’ needs, TVI Pacific Inc has put images of the damage and suffering in its Twitter and Flickr accounts.

The Philippines was hit last September 26 by a tropical storm that dumped more than 40 centimeters (15 inches) of rain on Metro Manila and surrounding provinces, unleashing six-meter (20-foot) floods that killed at least 270 people. The rainfall brought by the storm was the biggest in the Philippines’ recorded history.

The floods affected nearly two million people, 375,000 of whom have sought shelter in schools, gyms and other makeshift camps.
