From 2004 to 2008, TVIRD’s flagship Canatuan gold and silver mine established the company as one of the Philippines’ foremost mining companies.  Then from 2008 to 2013, TVIRD’s Canatuan copper and zinc operations elevated the company’s status to being one of the country’s top copper producers.  Now with the launch of its Agata nickel laterite DSO operations in late 2014, TVIRD is helping to solidify the Philippines’ leadership in the global production of nickel resources.

The Agata Nickel Laterite DSO project is held by Agata Mining Ventures Inc.  (AMVI), a TVIRD-led joint venture company that operates the DSO project located in Tubay Municipality, Agusan del Norte Province in a 4,995-hectare Mineral Processing Sharing Agreement (MPSA) area. 

Since operations began in October 2014,  AMVI is planning to ramp up its nickel DSO production to 5 million wet metric tonnes by 2016 once it secures necessary permits and approvals from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.  Once production has been optimized, AMVI anticipates dispatching approximately one to three shipments of 55,000 wmt of DSO every week.
